In partnership with The MTM Network: Hudson Valley at the serene Sallie D. Marie Meadows & Bird Sanctuary in Orangetown, this initiative invites families to experience creativity in a quiet, low-pressure environment.
Launching on Saturday, May 2, SenseZen Arts & Crafts offers a distinct alternative to high-energy recreation. While open to all children ages 6 and up, the program is specifically curated with a sensory-sensitive design, making it an inclusive space for those who thrive in calmer settings. Small groups of 3–4 participants will explore color, texture, and imagination amidst the natural beauty of the sanctuary.
“We recognized a need in Rockland County for a summer arts program that prioritizes inclusion over profit,” said Rogera C. Toussaint Michel, Director of The MTM Institute, the nonprofit behind the partnership. “By hosting these sessions outdoors at the Bird Sanctuary, we are providing a space where families can ground themselves in nature while expressing their creativity.”
